Notes by Brad Eells on his visit in June, 2010. Calandra Lookout is on Williams Hill in the center of many communications towers. The lookout was constructed in 1944 and is a USFS design L-601 30 foot enclosed tower with a BC-301 14x14 wood cab. The tower has been updated with aluminum sheet siding as is typical of CDF lookouts. The original outhouse is still intact and I found remains of the weather station. I was told the interior has been vanalized but I do not know to what extent. This lookout is on the National Historic Lookout Register #395. Photo taken by Brad Eells in June, 2010.
