Sierra Buttes Lookout is in a spectacular location on a rock pinnacle. This site was first used for fire dection in 1908. Several structures were built over the years with the current structure built in 1963. This lookout is #594 on the National Historic Lookout Register. Photo by Fred Johnson in 1989.
