| Rushing Mountain Lookout, also known as Big Hill Lookout, is managed by CalFire and may be staffed as needed during the fire season. Photo taken by Fred Johnson on May 27, 2007. | |||||||||

| The lookout at Rushing Mountain looks about the same condition when we visited it on September 21, 2011. This 35 foot high tower is an Aeromotor design probably built in 1931. The nearby residence and garage were constructed by the CCC. The residence appears to have been used as a transmitter site for an FM radio station and is now abandoned. | |||||||||
