Martis Peak Lookout, Placer County, California

Located in the Tahoe National Forest, Elevation = 8660 ft.
Martis Peak lookout is in good condition and is usually staffed during the fire season. In the summer of 2012 the lookout was staffed from 10:00AM to 6:00PM weekdays. It can be reached by driving 3.9 miles up a good paved road (16N92) from highway 267. In the winter it makes a good cross-country skiing destination.
