La Cumbre Peak Lookout was a one-off experimental USFS cab design on a 20 foot K-brace tower constructed in 1945. The location has extensive views of the Santa Barbara front country and the Los Padres National Forest back country. Communications equipment is present on site. The Los Padres NF maintains the site as a day use area with picnic tables and a restroom. This lookout is on the National Historic Lookout Register #882. Photo by Brad Eells, June, 2010.
