High Glade Lookout, Lake County, California, Elevation = 4843 ft

Located in Mendocino National Forest

High Glade appears in good condition, but was not staffed when I visited on June 27, 2017. The lookout was constructed in 1935 and has been placed on the National Historic Lookout Register as #1123. Recent News: The cab was totally destroyed in the Ranch Fire about July 31, 2018. Apparently the steel tower is still intact.
High Glade Lookout is in good condition. It is operated by CalFire and may be staffed as needed. With the flag flying it appears to have been staffed at that time. Photo by Fred Johnson, September 4, 2005.
Sign at the lookout in June 2017.
This is Reference Mark #3 placed at the base of a flagpole west of the building in 1968. I could not find the primary benchmark placed in1949.
