Grouse Ridge Lookout, Nevada County, California

Located in Tahoe National Forest, Elevation = 7711 ft.
Grouse Ridge is not an active lookout and appears to have been the target of graffiti artists. It has radio gear so is probably being used as a repeater site. This lookout is on the National Historic Lookout Register #283. Photo taken by Fred Johnson on August 12, 2001.

Late news: An FFLA Restoration Grant has been made to restore this lookout with the eventual goal of making it a rental. Work may begin in the summer of 2010. There is a website for the project: http://grouseridgelookout.com/
