Delilah Lookout sets on a 67 foot tower and has a 15 foot square all-metal cab. The mountain first had a 60 foot tower bulit in 1927. This had a small 6 by 6 foot observation cab on top. The current tower has a unique history in that it was on the Lemoore Army AIr Force airfield as a lookout site for enemy aircraft during World War II. At the end of the war the area was transferred to the City of Lemoore then to the Navy. In 1957 the tower was offered to the Forest Service who moved it to the Deliah site. Currently it is staffed by volunteers. This lookout is on the National Historic Lookout Register #379. Photos taken on August 10, 2008.
The date of construction, 1960, is stamped in the concrete at the base of the steps.
