The concrete slab is all that remains of Crandall Peak lookout. There was a lookout constructed here in 1934 by the CCC. It was used until the mid-1980's and then burned down in 1989. It consisted of a 40 ft. three-tiered wood frame building. The bottom floor was 15 ft. by 15 ft., with a standard 14 ft. by 14 ft. second floor and cab.
